META EMBEDDED PROCESSING/DSP IP CORES

The META family of embedded processing and DSP solutions is the 'glue' that enables Imagination Technologies to deliver platform and SoC level solutions that have high levels of flexibility and programmability using conventional high level languages.

META ATP

This processing solution combines general purpose RISC processors with advanced DSP capabilities in a true hardware multi-threaded solution. The META1 architecture which is at the heart of the META ATP also includes Advanced MIPS Allocation (AMA) hardware CPU resource management technology that ensures that each hardware thread gets the CPU resources it needs, regardless of what is running on the other threads. The unified cache and MMU capabilities of META ATP deliver uMETA Block Diagramp to four threads – each of which can be configured to be a RISC or RISC+DSP execution thread – in a unified memory architecture. The real-time responsiveness of the META1 architecture makes META ATP the ideal choice for SoC data flow and peripheral management, but it's also capable of running operating systems such as Linux or Nucleus™, or Imagination's own RTOS called MeOS. The DSP capabilities make it an ideal choice for a wide range of audio processing functions too, with a broad library of optimised codec available.

META HTP

This next generation solution uses the upgraded META2 architecture to deliver exceptional performance using standard synthesis libraries and off the shelf memories. Capable of up to 700MHz operation in a standard 65nm process, META HTP is fully code compatible with all products built on the META1 architecture. Enhanced cache performance, branch prediction and a host of other features make META HTP an embedded processing solution for next generation multimedia SoCs.

META MTX

This lightweight deeply embedded processor core is built on the core RISC instruction set of the META2 architecture. Used widely across many products from Imagination, the META MTX family of products is the ideal choice for a low cost, low power, high performance 32-bit RISC processing element. It's simplified cache-less memory architecture and excellent external event interfacing capabilities is capable of delivering up to 200MHz operation in a standard 90nm process. It's the ideal choice for low-level control and data flow processing.
