NAVIGATION & DRIVER INFORMATION

Both the in-car and Personal Navigation Device (PND) markets are creating growing demands for advanced 3D graphics, to more realistically represent the world on screen. 3D is also used to provide increasingly advanced user interfaces for in-car multimedia electronics, the eventual outcome of which will be the virtual integrated dashboard.

The rapid growth of the advanced in-car graphics market is still led by Japan, but we are beginning to see a move from the luxury segment to mainstream and a geographical broadening as products using our IP ship in western markets. Imagination has four active semiconductor partners in this market: Renesas, NEC, SiRF and Freescale.

All our partners are making excellent progress in both the in-car and PND segments, in products ranging from dedicated navigation solutions to highly-integrated driver information and entertainment solutions.
