IMGWORKS SOC DESIGN SERVICES
The IMGworks group provides comprehensive system-on-chip (SoC) design services and support expertise to provide a fast and low-risk path to production for customer SoC designs based around Imagination's IP cores. With a proven track record in 130nm and 90nm and many designs successfully in production, IMGworks has developed a state of the art design-flow using EDAtools from the leading providers to support designs down to 45nm. The methodology ensures that the SoC implementation is optimized for performance, area and power.
Typical engagements start at design concept and progress through specification, IP customization and integration, chip level verification, physical design and handoff to manufacturing. To support this activity IMGworks provides a range of SoC IP such as DMA controllers, bus arbiters and standard peripherals. In addition, software device drivers and test applications can be provided to accelerate chip qualification and product development.
As well as fully bespoke solutions IMGworks also offer standardised platform implementations which can be modified to meet specific requirements, thereby accelerating time to market.
These services are used by many of our customers, and in some cases our fabless semiconductor partners use IMGworks as their initial LSI design department during the early stages of growth, enabling them to focus on product support, sales and future product development. IMGworks can also help ramp-up a new design team by transferring a complete working SoC design to them, and advising them on appropriate design flows, libraries, foundries and many other aspects of implementation.
IMGworks also plays a key role in ensuring that all of Imagination's IP blocks are optimized for physical implementation, and can provide reference flows and design metrics along with support on specific implementation challenges.
