UCCP320 Communications IP Platform
The ENSIGMA™ UCCP320 IP platfor m is the latest programmable communications
solution from Imagination, based on the Series 3 UCC (Universal Communications Core)
architecture it delivers the world’s first truly universal radio processing unit (RPU).
UCCP320 adds support for worldwide cable and satellite standards, Chinese CTTB
(GB20600) and the second generation DVB-T2 digital terrestrial television reception,
alongside standards already available on earlier UCCPs.
Series 3 UCC programmable radio technology provides physical layer demodulation and
modulation. The updated architecture brings connectivity standards to the UCC plus
hardware support for multiple receive antennas to be used, for diversity reception or
simultaneous multi-channel demodulation. A 32-bit embedded META processor performs
system housekeeping and manages data-link processing for DVB-H and 802.11.
The IP platform enables a true multi-standard subsystem in a similar silicon footprint
to many competing single-standard solutions, realising industry-leading performance
in all standards for all key parameters, such as sensitivity, noise, Doppler, and CCI.
UCCP320 is a complete baseband solution having digitized signal inputs (complex or
real) and complex outputs for connection to an AFE and RF transceiver/tuner, with
the option of both master and slave bus interfaces for data and control connections
providing easy SoC integration.
