The Role

The candidate will be working within an RTL design team creating video intellectual property to be used by tier one semiconductor manufacturers. The focus is primarily on next generation video decoder and encoders to be used in state of the art consumer products.

Primary responsibilities will include

• The role will involve working with the system architects to define the block level architecture, the conversion of that architecture into RTL and the testing in conjunction with the simulator.
• You will be required also to understand the specification relevant to you part of the design.
• The role will also involve mentoring more junior engineers.

Required Skills

• The candidate must have experience in video or display projects and have experience in the design of silicon at the RTL level using either VHDL or verilog. This will typically be targeted at ASIC but FPGA will also be considered.
• The candidate should have a minimum of 2 years post graduate experience in a relevant field.

Desirable Skills

• Experience in a non video/display environment will be considered if the previous role involved designs with a high level of arithmetic/dataflow.

Working Environment

• You will be working in a hardware team of about 8 people with the video group of 16 people. You will regularly be liaising with the simulator and software driver group.

Qualifications
The candidate must have a Bachelor degree. Hons with a 1st or 2.1 grading, Master degree or equivalent in an electronics type subject.
